City Hall and Other City Offices
City Hall located at 300 South 5th Street and other city offices will be closed Monday, September 1 for the Labor Day holiday.
Sprayground and Splashpad
The Robert Coleman Sprayground at the corner of Walter Jetton Boulevard and Husbands Street and the Splashpad at the Pat & Jim Brockenborough Rotary Health Park located at 421 North 13th Street are open daily 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. including Labor Day.
Public Works Department
- Compost Facility: The Compost Facility located at 1560 North 8th Street will be closed Labor Day.
- Garbage Collection: The garbage collection schedule will NOT change for the Labor Day week.
- Curbside Recycling: As a reminder, curbside recycling is now collected on the same day as your garbage collection with collection every other week. The first week of September is a curbside recycling collection week. To sign up for Paducah’s curbside recycling program, view the every-other-week collection calendar, and see a list of accepted and not accepted items, visit Curbside Recycling. Labor Day Parade
The Labor Day Parade conducted by the Western Kentucky Labor Day Committee will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, September 1. The theme of this year’s parade is The New Golden Age of Labor.
The parade, which attracts on average 40 entries, will have a new route this year. It will follow Broadway starting at 13th Street and then head downtown to 2nd and Broadway where it will disband. The parade route will close in stages by 8:30 a.m. with the staging area and surrounding streets closed at 6:30 a.m. Streets will remain closed until the parade safely passes.
After the parade, the celebration will continue until 3 p.m. in the Farmers' Market parking lot at 2nd and Jefferson with live music, inflatables, miniature golf, a car cruise-in, and food vendors.
