On Monday, April 17, the contractor working for the City of Paducah, Harper Construction, will begin the rehabilitation of approximately three blocks of North 25th Street between Park Avenue and Mildred Street.
This first phase of this project will last approximately 90 days, weather-permitting. The scope of work includes the addition of sidewalks, curbs and gutters, accessible ramps, and entrance aprons to properties. Later this year, Jim Smith Contracting will mill and pave the roadway.
Please use caution, and watch for the work crews and traffic control devices. Access will be maintained for residents.

From Kentucky Transportation Cabinet - Old Mayfield Road Rehabilitation
A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans an extended closure of KY 994/Old Mayfield Road in Paducah starting Monday, April 17 at 8 a.m.
The roadway will be closed between Division Street and U.S. 60/Irvin Cobb Drive/South 21st Street to allow the roadway to be reconstructed with new curb and gutter and new concrete pavement. The rehab project will require the roadway to be closed for about 11 weeks with a target completion date of June 30.
There will be no marked detour. Passenger vehicles may self-detour via side streets. Trucks should detour via KY 1310/Berger Rd, U.S. 45 and U.S. 60. Local access will be maintained for businesses and residents.
This closed section of KY 994/Old Mayfield Road includes intersections with Alabama Street, Quarles Avenue, South 25th Street, and Chester Hack Drive.
This section of KY 994/Old Mayfield Road between Division Street and U.S. 60/Irvin Cobb Drive/South 21st Street has been plagued by insufficient gravel base, creating ongoing issues with the driving surface and drainage. This project is aimed at correcting those issues by replacing curb and gutters along a 2,000 ft. section of KY 994 and reworking drainage drop boxes. The roadway surface will then be taken out and replaced with a 10-inch layer of concrete.
Harper Construction, Inc., is the prime contractor on this $1.5 million highway improvement project.
